Banting holds at number two in size, but tops in exceeding projections

Posted October 2, 2012

Banting Memorial High School (BMHS) is a few students shy of being the largest in Simcoe County, second only to Innisdale, however, it was number one in exceeding projected enrolment over last year.

As of Sept. 19, Banting had 1,688 students attending the Alliston high school, which is 62 more than projected, but 61 less than the previous school year.

Innisdale, which is located near the Barrie Molson Centre, continues to be the largest school in Simcoe County with 1,704 students, which is 65 lower than projected and 66 lower than last year.

Penetanguishene SS, was the smallest high school in the County with 395 students, 12 less than projected. It's one of the secondary schools the Board has targetted for closure.
