Banting tennis team retains its GB title

Banting Senior High School Team Wins first overall at the Georgian Bay Regional's for second straight year.

Winning Gold for Banting was the mixed doubles team of Kevin and Heather Borsos. Kevin and Heather dominated every match with their excellent skills.

Also winning gold for Banting was Rebecca Herrington in the Girls Singles Division. Rebecca, a grade nine student playing for the senior team, won 48 straight games with no losses, winning 6 straight matches overall.

Tyler Matson and Mike MacEachern won Silver in Boys Doubles qualifying for OFSSA in the process. The boys played excellent tennis and will be ready for OFSSA in the Spring.

Joe Lloyd took the Bronze medal in Boys Singles having to play in a very tough division.

Payton Swaffield and Jenn Blenkarn also took home the Bronze medal in Girls Doubles.

Overall, the team easily won the Team Championship! Great Job Banting! The team is Coached by Mr. McKnight and Mrs. Tiessinga.
