![]() ![]() Work underway to restore water in Beeton, boil advisory still in placePosted January 19, 2013Press Release - Residents of the Beeton community are advised to boil drinking water until further notice. There was a water main break in Beeton last evening. Public Works staff worked quickly to identify the problem and to provide an alternate water source. The advisory is precautionary due to a brief period of low pressure in the water system during the water main break. As a proactive measure a boil water advisory is being put in place in coordination with the Ministry of Health. No negative test results have been received. A boil water advisory means that people who take their water from the municipal system should NOT:
Staff are continuously monitoring the water system and will do so until the system is fully restored. Required precautions have and will continue to be taken to ensure the protection of residents. A temporary supply line has been connected and the 9th Line will be closed at the 10th Sideroad while the supply line is required. Free Press Online will provide updates as they become available. Boil water advisory in effect in BeetonPosted January 19 - A break in the watermain into Beeton last night has forced the Town to issue a boil water advisory for all municipal water users in Beeton until further notice. Beeton firefighters were patrolling neighbourhoods last night just before midnight announcing the advisory through loud speakers. A temporary connection has been made that is keeping the water flowing. More details as the situation is updated. |
