Borden Metal Products is adding
an extension to its Dayfoot Street plant to increase its indoor storage
A draft site plan agreement awaiting council approval tonight shows
because expansion is less than 50 per cent of its gross floor area,
development charges are not applicable. The planning staff report to
council also notes that no additional jobs are anticipated as a result,
so no extra parking spaces are required.
Borden Metal, in business over 50 years, produces, "a complete line of
gratings in riveted, pressure
locked, squeeze locked and resistence welded construction in carbon
steel, aluminum and stainless steel alloys."
The project's haul route will be
Dayfoot St via west of Main Street toward Tottenham Road. "Any failure
to comply with or abide by the haul route will be deemed to be a breach
of this agreement."
One of the conditions added to the site plan will require Borden Metal,
which is on a private septic system, to connect to the municipal sewage
system once it becomes available through the pending reconstruction of
