Robbery attempt thwarted, but all four face charges

Posted August 13, 2014

Three males from Alliston, including two young offenders, and a Loretto man face various charges that stem from a botched robbery attempt Monday night in the Boyne Street area, which sent two of them to hospital with non-life threatening leg injuries.

Nottawasaga OPP reported this afternoon they were called to Stevenson Memorial Hospital August 11 to investigate the nature of injuries. K-9 and ERT were called to the scene on Boyne to help track down a suspect.

"It was determined during this investigation that three males had planned the robbery, but were met with resistance by the victim," according to the press release. "As a result of the investigation, two male young persons and one male adult have Robbery charges pending, and one adult male has pending charges of  Aggravated Assault."

All four know each other. No names were released, and police are limiting details because of the youth criminal provisions. They are scheduled to appear in a Bradford courtroom September 18.
