Work crew severed gas line on Boyne Street, Alliston

Posted May 20, 2009 -

Emergency crews were on scene this afternoon of a gas line leak caused from a severed six inch gas main on Boyne Street and John W Taylor Street area.

The location has been under construction for water and wastewater infrastructure and a work crew struck the pipe.

Police and fire had the area cordoned off for about an hour and two homes at 5053 Boyne Street and 5059 Boyne Street, next to the break, were evacuted.

Enbridge crews arrived on scene at approximately 1:55 p.m. and capped the leak at about 2:10 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
