New Tecumseth's updated Municipal Structure Inventory and Inspection Report (MSII), prepared by GHD Limited concludes five bridges need to be replaced at an estimated cost of $12.4 million.

The MSII, commissioned in 2018 and presented to council last week, lists the top replacement priority as the Boyne River pedestrian walkway at Dominion Street at an estimated cost of $720,000. Impact of deferal shows "closure."

There are 50 bridges that require at least $11.3 million rehabilitation with Beattie Bridge, Beeton Creek crossing, and the 5th Line near 20 SR, top the priority list.

At least 17 culverts require over $800,000 in rehabilitation, including on the 17th SR near 2nd Line; 3rd Line just west of Tottenham Road; Spring Creek culvert on Victoria St. E near Industrial Parkway; and Lilly Street East, east of Centre rounding out the top priorities.

The MSII also includes an estimate to build a bridge over the CP tracks on Victoria Street at Dufferin at an estimated cost of $6.76 million.
