![]() New Alliston FM radio station begins testing period on airPosted June 15, 2009CFAO at 94.7 FM Alliston is now on the air undergoing a CRTC and Industry Canada mandated testing period over the next couple of weeks. It can also be heard as a live stream over the internet. On the dial, the adult contempary music station 94.7 FM Alliston is located between Barrie's 93.1 CHAY FM, and Barrie's Rock 95 at 95.7 FM. Its signal is limited to a radius around Alliston, not unlike Collingwood's 95.1 Peak FM and 97.7 FM The Beach serving Wasaga Beach. "Right now, you are hearing a variety of music and a warning; if at times it sounds all over the place, it's because we are adjusting in a blend of music into the computer that will represent what we hope the majority people would like to hear," according to CFAO station owner Frank Rogers. "In the next couple of weeks we will be adding announcers (75 to 80 per cent are all local residents) at that time we will be adding News, Sports, Community Events, Weather and some very interesting locally produced shows." Mr. Rogers also has a licence to operate a radio station serving Beeton and Tottenham at 105.1 FM "with great country music will be hitting the airwaves soon." |
