Pair face drug charges, arson in Lisle

Two people face multiple charges in connection with an "explosion" that occurred Sept. 25 at an apartment in Lisle that sent one person to hospital with burns to his arms and face.

The arrests were made in October, but Nottawasaga OPP released details in a press release this afternoon.

"On September 25, 3:30 p.m. officers from the Nottawasaga OPP were called to assist Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department on the Main Street in Lisle. An explosion was reported from an apartment building as a result of a 27 year-old male from Lisle was transported to Stevenson Hospital in Alliston by ambulance with burns to his arms and face. He was then air lifted to Sunnybrook Hospital and is in critical condition. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office and the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit conducted the investigation.

Christopher Stephen Mahoney, 27 of Adjala-Tosorontio, and Shannon Marie Johnson, 30, Adjala-Tosorontio, were charged with two Counts of Production of Cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin; three Counts of Possession of Cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin for the purpose of Trafficking; and one count of Arson. Both were released and scheduled to appear in Bradford court in December.
