Alliston man suffered fatal head injuries from bike accident

An Alliston man died Friday night (July 6) from traumatic injuries suffered from striking his head on the pavement after falling off his bicycle behind Young Street's Alliston Mills Shopping Plaza just before 8:30 pm.

At this post (11:55 am) OPP had not yet released many details of the death, but the deceased is Chris Wyatt who was identified through a memorial Facebook tribute page set-up in his honour.

The deceased was not wearing a helmet at the time, and reportedly "doing bike tricks." A press release from the OPP is expected sometime this afternoon.

Visitation is on Wednesday from 2 pm to 4 pm; and 7 pm to 9 pm, with funeral services set for Thursday starting at 11 am at John Thomas Funeral Home in Alliston.
