A local couple face several drug related charges following a search
warrant executed at their residence south of Tottenham in New Tecumseth
yesterday yielding more than $50,000 in narcotics and three firearms.
OPP reported this afternoon that a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
warrant was served on the property just north of Hwy 9 by the OPP Drug
Enforcement Unit and Nottawasaga Detachment Street Crime Unit.
"As a result, police located a marijuana production and processing
operation. The residence and property was used for the growing, drying
and packaging of marijuana," according to the OPP. "Subsequent to
the search police seized over 10 pounds of dried marihuana, 55 grams of
hashish, 25 marihuana plants and numerous codeine pills and other
prescription drugs. Police also seized two 12-guage shotguns and one
22-calibre bolt action rifle, along with ammunitio and $340 in cash.
Troy Camplong, 32, and Kirsten Gabourie, face numerous drug-related
offences. They were held over for bail, and released from custody.
