Expansion at F&P to fit new stamping press

Posted May 13, 2019

F&P Mfg., in Tottenham is proposing an addition of 1,891 square metres (20,355 sq.ft.) to its plant 1 to accommodate a new 1,000 tonne stamping press and additional warehouse space.

The tier one automotive parts supplier produces suspension components and pedal assemblies for Honda. It's seeking a conditional building permit to begin construction ahead final planning approvals.

A relocated fire route will be required and it's expected construction will impact the shipping operations of the company, "so prior to any new construction, the owner is proposing a new laneway for their shipping/loading operations," according to the building department's report to council. "This new laneway will also serve to satisfy the Town's fire needs. In addition, the peer review of an acoustic report is in progress, and will need to be satisfactorily addressed. Both of these matters will be addressed in the conditional building permit agreement to ensure the new laneway has been constructed, and the noise report is signed off before the complete building permit can be issued.

F & P employees over 900 associates at its two manufacturing plants located on Nolan Road.
