![]() Habitat for Humanity Huronia opens ReStore outlet in AllistonPosted June 29, 2009Habitat for Humanity Huronia, which includes a New Tecumseth chapter, has opened a ReStore outlet which sells new and used building material, with proceeds used to build new local Habitat homes. ReStore Alliston is located at 239 Church Street South and open Tuesday to Saturday. Materials sold by Habitat Restores are usually donated by local building supply stores, contractors and demolition crews. Individuals can also donate used products in good condition. Ted Barnaby, Director of Procurement and Public Relations for Restore/Huronia, said local customers can expect to find the same "good" stuff that they would find in Barrie. "Building materials new and used, doors, windows, tools, desks, shelving, toilets, sinks, carpet, flooring, the list goes on," explained Mr. Barnaby. "We get the goods as donations from various sources, you know, end of line, overstock, demos, that sort of thing. We have also been receiving a number of personal (folks @ large) renos, kitchen and washroom redo's and we welcome contributions from anyone." Habitat Huronia New Tecumseth is currently working on its second home in Alliston. An official grand opening for the ReStore is scheduled for July 18. |
