Hornets drop game in Stayner, Cougars tonight, playoffs in
the wing

The Alliston Hornets fell victim to looking ahead last night, losing
5-4 to Stayner to end the travel portion of their regular season.
Alliston took a 3-2 lead into the third period on a pair of goals by
Mike Campeau, and single marker to David Leblanc whose powerplay
opened the game's scoring at 4:11 of the first. Stayner scored three
unaswered goals in the third, for a 5-3 lead before Dakota Brooks
closed the gap, unassisted with 20 seconds to play in a game that saw
the Hornets Cole Parker, and Stayner's Jason Seeley ejected for
fighting majors at 10:39 of the second.
Tyler Brindle took the loss in goal, his second in regulation time.
Last night's game also featured a familiar piece of the past, with
former head coach Darrin Shannon stepping into help as an assistant
coach behind the bench with the absence of Kyle McDowell and Rich
Gobatto.
The Hornets close out their regular season tonight against Schomberg
for a 7:30 puck drop at the NTRC in Alliston.
First round playoff brackets nearly set
The quarterfinal round of of the GMOHL playoffs will start Jan. 30 with
a best of three "play-in" series between Fergus and Huntsville. The
winner will be the 8th seed and play Alliston as the top seed.
The other set brackets, all best of seven, will feature second seed
Stayner against Schomberg, with Game 1 Jan. 31; Midland will have home
ice advantage against Caledon, and start their series on Feb. 1; And
Erin and Penetang will play in the other bracket, but home ice
advantage is still to be determined. Both have two games remaining this
weekend, with Erin holding a one point edge in the standings.

to the game
January 25, 2013 has been declared the official launch of the Stevenson
Memorial Hospital Foundation's It takes you... Campaign and you
can be part of it. Wear anything orange - the campaign's colour. Streak
your hair. Decorate your front door, tree or car. Purchase a decal for
your window. The Alliston Hornets Junior C Hockey Club will welcome the
Campaign Cabinet to their game at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex.
Come out and enjoy an evening of hockey and be a part of the official
