![]() ![]() Transition details into bar business to be focus of 'status report'Posted September 27, 2012When New Tecumseth announced yesterday its takeover of the Hornet's Nest restaurant/bar operation would begin on Monday and re-open for regular business hours starting Thursday, details about how that will happen, were not included. "The current owner (Richard Norcross) is making every effort to ensure that there is a smooth transition of the food and beverage facility to the Town," wrote mayor Mike MacEachern via email. "The Town is not employing or contracting services from the previous owner. The "food and beverage" facility will offer food and beverages." Mr. Norcross whose $50,000 buy-out provisions kick-in on Monday when the 6,000+ sq. ft. second floor space, and the exclusive rights on alcohol sales at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (NTRC) revert back to the Town, will continue to operate the concessions and vending machines. When pressed for more details this morning about the liquor licence situation, and how it could be in place/or the Town in a position to sell alcohol about a week after council approved the renegotiated terms, mayor MacEachern replied that "a status report of the transition will be available at the first meeting in October (which is on the 15th)." |
