Jr. C clubs in Alliston for annual Hornets tourney, down to final cuts

Posted September 7, 2012

The Alliston Hornets will play the Schomberg Cougars tonight at 6 pm to open the organization's 6th annual preseason Jr. C tournament at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.

Twelve teams, split into three pools, will all see action tonight on the two rinks. The Stayner Siskins are the tournament's defending champs, ending Alliston's run of four straight in last season's event. The Hornets revenge came in the GMOHL league finals, sweeping Stayner to win a 5th consecutive league title.

Each of the teams are down to their final cuts and the preseason tournament will be the final opportunity for those players on the bubble to impress their coaches.
