Seven different goal scorers, including a pair from Dakota Brooks, gave the Alliston Hornets an 8-2 win Friday night over the Midland Flyers in a rematch of last year's league finalists.
It was not only the first regular season match between the two sides, but also Hornets head coach Ed Garinger's first against his former team.
Tyler Brindle got the win to run his record to 2-0-1
The Hornets travelled to Huntsville for a Sunday matinee and left town with a 3-1 win. Darren Nesbitt, Brooks, and Alex Daley scored single markers in each period.
Connor Ryckman registered the win in net and sports a league best 4-0 record and 1.50 GAA.
The weekend wins keep Alliston one point out of first place with 13 and two games in hand on leaders Schomberg and one game in hand on Penetang who are tied with 14 points.
Alliston travels to Stayner on Thursday night, and hosts Huntsville Friday night at the NTRC, 7:30 pm start.
