Kings hand Hornets first regulation time loss
October 21, 2013
The Penetang Kings took over sole possession of first place rounding the quarter pole, following a 4-1 victory over the Alliston Hornets in rare Sunday home
night at the NTRC.
It was also the first loss in regulation time for Alliston,
and only the second time in 11 games held only to one goal - the other
was a 1-0 win over Huntsville on October 11.
As close as Alliston would get is at 2:02 of the second period
when Dalton Payne scored on the powerplay to tie the score at one.
Myles York scored a pair for Penetang, and singles to Jordan Schwartz
and Matt Fischer. Adam Redgate got the win in net, while Tyler Brindle
runs his record to 3-1-1 in the loss.
Alliston did open its weekend play with a 3-0 shutout of
Fergus Friday night at the NTRC.
A pair of goals by Tanner Dockerty and the other by Mark
O'Donnell, with assists to Andrew Ceolin and Bobby Sloan, led the way.
Connor Ryckman ran his league leading record to 6-0 and sports a 1.00
GAA with two shutouts.
The Hornets have a trio of games this week starting with a
road trip to Stayner Thursday night, who then make the trip to Alliston
for a Friday night rematch at 7:30 pm. Then Alliston travels to Midland
for a Sunday matinee start at 2:30 pm.
