First annual County-wide hospitality awards in April

Posted March 12, 2013

The Nottawasaga Resort & Inn, Bistro Seven Seven, and Rose's Bread Basket in Alliston, are among local establishments nominated in the first annual Simcoe Hospitality Awards, presented by the Simcoe County chapter of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA).

"This is your opportunity to help us bring together and formally recognize some of the great hospitality and tourism professionals in our region," according to the organization's web site. "As part of the ORHMA's commitment to professional development, our goal is to raise $15,000 in scholarship funds that will directly support students in Georgian College hospitality programs. Any remaining funds will go to the ORHMA Simcoe Regional board to support local efforts that strengthen the voice of tourism and hospitality in our region."

There are two categories - The People's Choice Award, which is open to the public to vote: It includes the Favourite Server whose nominees include Adriana Medeiros of the Nottawasaga Inn. Favourite Bartender includes Ann and Elaine of the Nottawasaga Inn; and Favourite Restaurant includes Riverview Dining Room, Nottawasaga Inn; and the Bistro Seven Seven.
