Young offenders charged in Husky robberies, not connected to Fast Cash, OPP

Posted May 15, 2014

Two male young offenders are in custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for today in Barrie, charged in the armed robberies of the Husky Gas Bar that took place May 5th and again May 11th.

Nottawasaga OPP reported this morning the arrests were made yesterday, "as result of thorough detailed investigation."

Both Husky robberies took place at night, involved a lone male, brandishing a knife, caught on video survellience.

The names of the two arrested cannot be released in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). Police also did not release their ages, where the arrests were made, and where they're from.

OPP Constable Paul Nancekivell told Free Press Online this morning via email the pair were not being charged in connection to yesterday morning's armed robbery of the Fast Cash outlet on Victoria Street in downtown Alliston.

Police have not released a description of the suspect, who also flashed a knife, and reportedly struck the female employee, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. She was treated at Stevenson Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

"Fast Cash remains open and ongoing investigation."
