Joe McCarroll selected for museum's 2010 Wall of Honour

The Museum on the Boyne in Alliston has chosen local historian Joe McCarroll to be enshrined onto its Wall of Honour for 2010 as part of this year's Heritage Day celebrations February 20th.

Mr. McCarroll was selected by the museum's advisory committee for his contributions "to the heritage of the community."

"Mr. McCarroll is a well-respected resident of Alliston. He is a valuable member of the Alliston Historical Society and is relied upon heavily for his knowledge of local history," according to the press release issued this morning. "Mr. McCarroll is a WW 2 veteran and active member of the Alliston Legion."

His induction ceremony gets underway at 1 pm, while Heritage Day at the museum runs from 10 am to 3 pm, free admission.

Wall of Honour members include: Allan Anderson, Betty Anderson, Ernest Cumberland, Burton Ford, Shirley Gibson, Earl Hanson, Mary Munnoch, Bert Platt, and Gord Wright.
