'We are the Town of New Tecunseth'Posted August 29, 2012to the editor, The OMHA should be ashamed. They failed us. This never would have happened if they had just told the BAA that they needed to have their tryouts well before TNT. I thought that kids safety is supposed to be the number one priority. Trying to field rep teams in Beeton is not just ridiculous it is beyond unsafe. Parents that support the BAA, this should be a wake up call to you. Please let this end. Our children deserve to play hockey, a game they love where they can play in a safe and competitive environment. The sad thing is that we are only asking for something that should already be our right to do and that is to have our kids play for our town. We are the Town of New Tecumseth. That is who we pay our taxes to. That is where all other sports are played. Our children should be able to play with their peers. They play all other sports under the Town of New Tecumseth banner. My son will be starting high school and he should have the right to play with his friends. I would like to thank those who are standing up for our kids, it is more than the OMHA is willing to do.
