Welcome signs would be welcomed

September 2, 2014
Most progressive cities and towns have a "Welcome Sign" on the main
entrances to their municipality.
While New Tecumseth has welcome signs to Borden Personnel on the north
entrances to Alliston on the Borden Road and County Road 10, New
Tecumseth now at some 24 years of existence, does not have any other
welcome signs into the town.
During the period 2001 to 2003, I proposed we place rock slab signs,
similar to the ones at Schomberg, East Caledon and Bolton, with the
message, "Welcome to New Tecumseth."
The signs would have been placed on Hwy. 89 just west of Cookstown and
just inside the town at the west end of Alliston (west of Tim Hortons);
at County Rd. 1 west of Hwy. 27 and south of Tottenham
on County Rd. 10 (just north of Hwy. 9). Nothing happened.
Perhaps the new 2015-2019 council will do this very important project.
