New Tecumseth concerned only about missing out on DCs

I'm a bit surprised that no one has noticed the omission from
the article regarding the re-zoning of an area west of Alliston that is
part of Adjala-Tosorontio.
The article read in part: "Specifically, New Tecumseth has issues with
proposed retail uses that would have an impact on the downtown
businesses."
I'm sure the fact that New Tecumseth is only concerned about
Downtown Alliston when development comes into play and New Tecumseth
does not receive development charges and property taxes was
inadvertently left out.
Surely the developments such as Canadian Tire, Walmart, etc. have not
had any impact on the downtown, have they? I suspect if New Tecumseth
owned the property in question it would have been developed years ago.
