Adding 'clarity to a potentially explosive situation'to the editor,

While I certainly appreciate Curtis Sluman's fear and
posted Sept. 8) while crossing at the four corners of
Tottenham with his young children, I would like to clarify the law to
which he is referring to.
If cars had to wait at stoplights for every person to be clear of a lighted crosswalks, they would never be able to make a turn.
We have all seen those pedestrians who nonchalantly start
their way across even though the No Walking sign is flashing or the
light has already turned red.
