Bus children to Riverdale Park 'so they can share the benefits'to the editor,
Posted August 25, 2014
After hearing all the particulars concerning projected improvements to the Alliston Splash Pad I took it on myself to visit the Beeton Splash Pad just out of curiosity.
I was shocked to find said Splash Pad almost in the middle of a small field-without shade, picnic table not evident. I realize that the loss of the Beeton Rotary and the Beeton Lions Clubs probably had a detrimental effect on the fund raising needed to keep this necessary venue going but is this the best Councillor Richard Norcross can do for the children who reside in his constituency. They deserve better!
I think that bussing these children to Riverdale Park is the answer so they can share the benefits that are plainly evident. They will have access to Adventure Park, The Rotary Pool, The Splash Pad, Skate Park and Ball Diamonds.
Like it or not, New Tecumseth is an amalgamated town and it is time to stop bickering over who gets what and why. Everyone, young and old alike, has the right to participate in the activities offered at this unique venue.
We are looking forward to the improvements that will take place next spring and we thank the
Alliston Rotary Club and our Town Council for their continuing interest and donations in order to make
Riverdale Park, The Pride of New Tecumseth.
