'We do need to learn from history'to the editor,
Posted January 29, 2014
I read Dr. Monique Moreau's recent letter regarding public input into Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) decisions, and the doctor has made some good points.
I agree with her that we do need to learn from history. Make no mistake, I think it is vital for the community, SMH Board, and medical community to work together to make sure our community hospital is the best it can be.
I certainly gathered from Dr. Kahn that he is passionate about the health of community members and willing to work along with the Board and others to that end.
I intend to reiterate with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the concerns and challenges facing SMH as a rural community hospital.
