Question remains why lease terms changed in final draft

One of the best features of a local press is the quality and level of participation of the readership through letters to the editor.

It takes both a secure and confident person to get away with taking pot-shots at the Mayor and the Council as in the case of Wayne Hutchinson's latest submission. I also admire Ron Fischer's contribution.

Far be it for me to suggest that there were any wrong doings going on behind closed doors with regard to the previous council awarding the Hornet's Nest lease to councillor Richard Norcross.

For me, the question that remains out there like an aching sore thumb waiting to be asked is why was the re-written and amended lease allowed to slip through without full and diligent scrutiny by the Council of the day? It was approved through the consent agenda, like a "hot knife through butter."

This is a prime example why those candidates that ran in the previous municipal elections were campaigning for change to an open and transparent government.

Instead, the Òmilk has been spiltÓ and there appears to be nothing more to be done about it. However, the good people when the time comes, can take back control of their Council and return to an honest and common sense approach to their town affairs in November 2014.
