Metis Transportation public transit study ongoing

to the editor,

Posted March 31, 2014

Over the past few months, Metis Transportation Ltd has been conducting surveys in nine municipalities in Simcoe County.

Starting the second week in April, we will begin to pick up these survey boxes from over 100 locations throughout Simcoe County. Due to the weather, it was impossible for us to pick them up sooner.

Some surveys forms are currently being mailed to us and this shows that there is an interest in public transit, Metis Transportation Ltd is providing this service to those municipalities that have supported our initiative and that currently do not have transit at no cost to the taxpayers.

We wish to thank those businesses and municipalities, in New Tecumseth, Adjala-Tosorontio, Clearview, Tiny, Tay, Severn, Oro-Medonte, Ramara and Chippewas of Rama First Nation, that have participated in these surveys for without them, this would have not been possible to get your opinion in the most cost effective mannor possible. (A complete list will appear on our web site after the last survey box has been picked up).

You can still participate in our on-line surveys at

We also would like to thank the local media for encouraging an active participation in the discussion about public transit and what it means to the local communities throughout Simcoe County.

If you have any questions, please contact us on twitter: @mtl_simcoe, email: or by phone at 705-500-4636 (our local Barrie number).
