Local man's tantrum leads to charges in Bradford

Posted August 8, 2012

A 22-year-old male from Loretto faces charges of theft and mischief after South Simcoe Police arrested him for taking a woman's cell phone then throwing it into the river in Bradford.

Police reported this morning that they were called just before 1:30 am this morning for a dispute between a male and female on Holland Street East in Bradford.

"Police located the female who advised that a male she had been with had taken her cell phone from her and would not return it," according to the press release. "The male was located a short time later and advised that the phone had been thrown into a local river.  The male was arrested and transported to the South Simcoe Police Service where he was charged with Theft and Mischief."

The accused was released with conditions not to communicate with the female and has a court date in September to answer to the charges.
