Emergency crews deal with the aftermath of a collision involving a motorcycle and jeep on Hwy 89, yesterday.

Serious crash still under investigation

Posted May 27, 2014

A 53-year-old woman is in a Toronto hospital with serious injuries, and the collision that caused them yesterday afternoon on Hwy 89 at Cty Rd 13 in west of Alliston, remains under police investigation.

Nottawasaga OPP reported this morning that at approximately 5 pm yesterday, "police arrived on scene to find a 2007 Jeep Liberty and 2004 Kawasaki V8B involved in a T-type collision at that location."

The female driver of the Kawasaki was airlifted by air ambulance to Toronto and the 52 year old female driver of the Jeep was taken by Simcoe County paramedics to Stevenson Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

OPP's Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) spent several hours at the scene trying to determine what happened.

"Further updates will be provided as they become available," reported OPP, adding, "With the warm weather, be aware there will be more motorcyclists on the roadway, drive safe, be aware and share the road."
