OPP investigating early morning assault in Alliston

Posted October 22, 2012

Nottawasaga OPP are searching for suspects of an alleged early morning violent mugging Saturday that left an Alliston man with several injuries.

OPP reported this afternoon they were called to the Sheppard Avenue home of the 23-year-old victim at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Oct. 20.

He had been "out for the evening at an establishment near the intersection of King Street and Young Street. He was found by family members lying in his room clearly injured and bleeding from the head and face. The victim relayed that while walking home he was assaulted by a group of males," according to the press release.

"Some of the victim's belongings that were with him while walking prior to the assault, were located on the road at the intersection of Heydon Avenue and King Street where blood was also sighted leading police to believe the victim may have been assaulted in that area. The victim sustained injuries that included a broken jaw and stitches to his head. He was taken to the hospital for medical attention."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottawasaga OPP.
