Murder suspect remains behind bars for at least another month

Posted July 4, 2012

The 17-year-old young offender charged with second-degree murder in the June 23rd stabbing death of 24-year-old Steven Garnier, made a brief court appearance yesterday but her case was adjourned until Aug. 7 where a date could be set for a bail hearing.

The suspect, whose name can not be revealed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is currently in the process of applying for Legal Aid.

Steven's funeral was held Monday at John Thomas Funeral home in Alliston.

OPP continue to investigate the incident that took place during a small gathering of friends at 53 Centre St. in Alliston just before midnight.
