NDBL's Strother Cup semi-finals set, Barrie vs Aurora Jr finals

Post-season play continues in the North Dufferin Baseball League as senior teams move on to the second round.

The Aurora Jays will meet the New Lowell Knights in one series while the Bolton Brewers and Ivy Leafs meet in another.

In first round action, Aurora swept the Barrie Angels in three games. New Lowell defeated the Midland Indians in a five game bout. The Knights tied twice and won two games to give them the six points to advance.

In a three-game contest with the Clearview Orioles, the Bolton Brewers picked up the series win. Meanwhile, the Ivy Leafs advanced to the second round after a victory over the Mansfield Cubs. The two teams tied their first game with Ivy winning the next three contests.

Aurora and New Lowell will play their first game Aug. 19 in Aurora followed by an Aug. 22 contest also in Aurora.

The Bolton-Ivy series started Sunday with Ivy picking up a 4-2 win. The next game is scheduled for Aug. 21 in Bolton.

Over in the junior division, Barrie Red Sox and Aurora Jays continue their championship series. Both teams are tied at five points with a game scheduled for Aug. 21 in Aurora. Should a seventh game be necessary it will be in Barrie.
