Officer's injuries stabilize, accident still under investigation

An on-duty OPP officer - not with Nottawasaga - who crashed his unmarked police cruiser this morning on Cty Rd 10 just south of Angus, remains in a Toronto hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to the latest update from OPP. Police did not reveal which detachment he's with.

The accident occurred this morning at approximately 10 am between Camp Hill Road and the 4th Line. His vehicle had rolled, and required extrication by Essa firefighters.

The OPP Aviation Services along with the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit are continuing the investigation and the road will remain closed until further notice.

Posted May 21 - At this update OPP remained on scene of a serious accident on Cty Rd 10 between the 4th Line and Camp Hill Road near Borden that required extrication by Essa firefighters, and air ambulance. The OPP's traffic collision investigators were dispatched to the scene where the road is expected to be closed for several hours. Police are asking for witnesses to the collision to contact OPP.
