Council minutes confirm Osmond's ouster ratified last Monday
Posted June 6,
The countdown to Ray Osmond's final days as New Tecumseth's Director of
Parks, Recreation and Culture, followed the "confidential verbal report
of Mayor MacEachern" during an in camera meeting on May 20th, that
concluded with "confidential direction to staff," according to minutes
of the meeting which lasted approximately an hour.
Mayor MacEachern's in camera report followed immediately after the special council meeting was called to deal with the over-budget tender bids attached to the 54 Plus Club addition to the NTRC that required an additional draw from parks and recreation DCs of $309,616.
The "confidential direction" led to recommended actions that were
ratified by council on June 2, also in camera, which as reported first
on Wednesday by Free Press Online, led to the end of Mr. Osmond's near
four year tenure with the Town.
At this post it's not clear whether Mr. Osmond was terminated with or
without cause, and whether his separation pay included more than what
would be required by employment laws in Ontario.
