Traffic stop leads to drug, credit card fraud charges

A Toronto man is facing a variety of charges following a "routine stop" overnight on Hwy 89 west of Alliston near Cookstown.

OPP reported this morning that police "had occasion to stop an eastbound 2006, silver, VW Jetta" just east of the 11th line (Essa) at approximately 3:30 am.

"During this routine stop, officers discovered a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine as well as several pieces of equipment used for the production of fraudulent credit, debit and Identification cards," according to the press release. "Officers also seized a number of false IDs and credit cards."

Tihomir Peev, 37, of Toronto is charged with Forgery of Credit Card; Instrument for use in forging credit cards; Uttering forged documents; Fail to comply with recognizance; Fail to comply with probation order; and Traffricking a Schedule I Drug (methamphetamine).

At this post, Peeve remains in custody pending a court appearance.
