Crews clearing way for next phase of Cty Rd 50 reconstruction

Site preparation is underway for Phase 7 of Simcoe County's
multi-phased improvements to Cty Rd 50 south of Loretto with the tree
clearing and fencing contract to be completed by June 20. That makes
way for the utility relocation which is expected to take until December
"There should be minimal traffic impacts as result... other than
the occasional short duration temporary single lane closures,"
according to Chris Doherty, Engineering Technician, County of Simcoe.
The actual construction, which will disrupt traffic flow for several
months, will not begin until spring 2015. It will cover 2.0 km south of
10 Sideroad to approximately 1.0 km north of Simcoe County Road 14. Mr.
