Quick arrests in Alliston robbery, property recovered

Posted February 23, 2013

Three people remain in custody at this post, pending a bail hearing as suspects of a mugging last night in Alliston.

Nottawasaga OPP responded to the incident at approximately 9:30 pm for a reported 23-year-old Alliston man who'd been robbed of his cell phone and wallet by the three males.

"In an effort to locate the fleeing assailants, a K9 officer and members of the Ontario Provincial Police's Central Region Emergency Response Team conducted a K9 track through the streets of Alliston," according to the OPP press release. "As a result of the K9 track, one adult male and two male youths from the Alliston area were arrested. Both the victim's cell phone and wallet were recovered."

The three suspects from Alliston were each charged with robbery, with one of the young offenders also charged with wearing a disguise with intent. At this update, police provided no further details.
