Robbery charge in Alliston bar incident

A Durham area man is facing several charges following an incident early Saturday morning at Coyote Cutie on Young Street in Alliston.

OPP report they were called to the bar at 12:39 am following a scuffle that left the bar manager with minor injuries.

"A 29-year-old male came into the business at 12:15 am and was refused service due to his intoxication level, he was escorted from the business by the manager," according to the press release. "Twenty minutes later, a staff member heard noise in the office area and went to determine what it was.  The staff member located the same male in the office area committing a theft from the business, an altercation occurred within the business which resulted in minor injuries. Nottawasaga OPP Officers located the male suspect not far from the business. The male originally provided a false name to Police."

Harry Wesley Burley, from the Durham area, is charged with Robbery with Violence, Mischief Under $5,000, Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer and Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held over for a bail hearing.
