14-year-old among Alliston robbery suspects arrested

Nottawasaga OPP provided further details this afternoon on the three
people arrested in connection with Friday night's mugging of a
23-year-old Alliston man in the area of Dufferin and Tupper St. East.
The victim told police the suspects had taken his cellphone and wallet
then fled the scene. K-9 and the ERT were called to search the area,
which led quickly to three arrests and the property recovered.
A 14-year-old male is charged with Disguise with Intent,
Robbery with Theft and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; a
17-year-old male is charged with Robbery with Theft
and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under the Youth Criminal
Justice Act. An 18-year-old adult male is charged with
Robbery with Violence and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
All three from Alliston were held over the weekend in police custody
pending a bail hearing that was scheduled for today.
The names of the youth could not be released, and the police are not
naming the 18-year-old "as releasing this information may lead to the
identification of the young persons involved."
