Mayor's race in Adjala-Tosorontio now includes deputy

Posted May 12, 2014

Adjala-Tosorontio deputy mayor Mary Small Brett riled to run for mayor this morning, joining Leo Losereit in the race.

Ms. Small Brett, a retired school teacher, has been a member of council for 14 years, including the last term as deputy.

The major differences in platforms between Mr. Losereit and Ms. Small Brett is, she supports the plan to grow Everett by 10,000 people.

Mayor Tom Walsh is not seeking reelection. Speculation in the Township now turns to the possible entry of Ken Pratt as a deputy mayor candidate. Mr. Pratt, a former Alliston councillor and Everett resident, recently sold his Beeton Foodland store, and suggested that he was looking to become active again in the municipal political scene.

Other candidates registered include Scott Anderson in Ward 5 and Floyd Pinto in Ward 1.
