The stage was set for something big to happen for the TNT select seven
stars sponsored by Briway Carriers as they travelled to Stouffville
with some intense spirit to take on those high flying Clippers.
As these young guns took the ice for the first period, you could tell
they were wanting to soar.
In the first it was all Stouffville as they came in waves. If it
weren't for some miraculous saves from Luca Moras, the game would have
been out of hand early. Near the end of the frame our young phenoms
showed signs of life as Jacob Jackson found the back of the net to
break the egg. Assists by Ryerson Harvey-Dick and Nate Holmes. 4-1
In the second, Stouffville added another but you could sense the tide
start to change. 5-1 after two.
In the third, our young twisters began to pass, started to skate, and
hussled hard. As the period went on, the hard work paid off as Jackson
added his second from Meghan Houle and Cal Virtue-McCague. Next to
strike was Carter Flanagan on feeds from Jacob English and Eryk
To make it even closer and give our parents hope was Jackson to get the
game within reach. Assists to Chase Yanni and Ethan Frost. 5-4 bad
guys. With less than a minute to go, the young twisters never gave up
as they carried the play in the home side's end with time ticking down,
on some beautiful passing. English tied the score on passes from Max
Gough and Jack Brayford. 5-5! What a finish.
Two days later, the young Tornado squad had another road tilt across
the 400 to Innisfil to gamble with a team new to the league. What could
they bring? Were we ready to play?
In the first it was our young guns that took the play to the host club.
With an early reward from a common combo, Jackson finished the play
from Harvey-Dick and Holmes. 1-0 after one.
In the second, the young stars took it to Innisfil some more as Jake
MacSween shot one top drawer on feeds from Virtue-McCague and Anthony
MacDonald. 2-0 after two.
In the third and final frame, the red warriors added four more to get
an incredible victory and cap off play better than these eyes have
seen. Great game team, an incredible 6-2 win.
Goals scored by MacSween, Houle, MacDonald and Kallum Southwood.
Assists to MacDonald, Gough, Houle, MacSween, Frost, Holmes, Moras, and
Southwood. Great job.
