Minor Atom AA
The TNT Tornados Minor Atom AA team sponsored by Ken Beattie Ltd. hosted the defending York Simcoe finalist Markham Waxers in the first of a back to back home stand in only this second weekend of play. Would the team rise above or lightly blow into oblivion?

The boys started slow trying to shake off the rust but managed to get one by the visiting keeper. 1-0 TNT after one. Goal scored by Wylie 'the Wizard' Birkett, assisted by the super human strength of Cole Turcotte as he fought through four to make the play.

In the second, the boys started to roll. As they passed it around, they found every hole. First it was the TSM line. That's Kyler MacNeil to Mitchell Smilsky and finished by Caleb 'Clutch' Thompson. Not to be out done, Birkett used his incredible tenacity to fight off a defender as he buried his second top shelf to take a commanding 3-1 lead into the final frame of game number one. Assisted by Michael Meszaros.

In the third the boys let off the gas thinking they had the W. The pesky Waxers had other thoughts as they scored early to get within one. Would our stars fall? How would they respond? Well the 'Big Dog' barked and finished them off with his third and fourth to make the final 5-3 home side. Pretty? No. But it worked. Both Birkett goals assisted by MacNeil, Hayden Forrest, Turcotte and Jacob Longfield.

Next up to try their hand was the Stars from just above Toronto. As Richmond Hill took the ice, you could tell they have improved from years past. TNT? Well they were ready. In the first it was all home boys as they took it to Richmond Hill. Shot after shot, this blocker saw more shots than yesterday's after party. Yet no score after one.

In the second, he started to crack, as Turcotte fired one top shelf on a highlight reel goal. Assists from the back end by Colin Ewing and Jacob Holmes. Then 'the Wizard' appeared and scored again from Steven Mercer and Turcotte. As the seconds ticked away and trying to kill off a call, the visitors scored with 9 seconds left in the period to split the lead. 2-1 after two.

In the third, again it was all young phenoms as Turcotte snapped one home followed by an end to end rush by Jackson 'Jet Speed' Vojin to put the game out of reach. Assists to Graysen Alexander, Dalziel Kirby, Scott Barnett and Hayden Santo. Make the final 4-2. Way to go you're three and O.

Major Peewee AA
The TNT Peewee AA team got back to their winning ways this week.

The boys faced Stouffville on Thursday (Sept. 25) and battled for a 1-1 tie with no scoring until the third period when the opposition found the scoreboard first. Caden Maher pounded the mesh assisted by Ben Beausaert to finish up the game scoring.

The team faced Aurora on Friday night and fans were entertained by Wade Cumberland's hat trick as he put the team a head 3-1 in the first. Cumberland was assisted by Matthew Mitchell and Connor DeVries for his first, Ben Coram for his second and DeVries for his third goal. (An oversight by this writer writer was Connors return to the team this season). Finishing up the scoring in the third was Coram assisted by Mitchell and Jordan Maiolino assisted by Chris Thorne. Final score was 5-1 TNT.

Saturday the team faced the Barrie Colts who were unable to beat Curtis Latter who confidently shut them out to assist in a 4-0 victory. Early in the second DeVries netted his first of two assisted by Brandon Smyth and Beausaert. A minute later it was DeVries once again assisted by Mason Coons and Darcy Tainsh. Jeremy Anderson finished up the period with a great goal assisted by Maiolino and Maher. Cumberland finished up the scoring assisted by Anderson.
