At 3:42 pm yesterday, Nottawasaga OPP were dispatched to 17 Queen Street North to deal with an "Unwanted Person call."

"When Police arrived a male party was sitting on the steps, not very coherent and semi-conscious," according to information released this morning by Nottawasaga OPP.

The 44-year-old male was placed in the back seat of the OPP crusier when his condition turned worse. Paramedics were called to the scene.

"The male went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. One of our officers (Provincial Constable James Hargreaves) performed CPR on the male before paramedics arrived."

He was transported to Stevenson Memorial Hospital wheeled into emergency as CPR was still being administered. He was then transferred to North York Hospital in diabetic shock/coma.
