Collingwood consultant CC Tatham and Associates has been hired by Simcoe
County to conduct a South Simcoe Transportation Master Plan Study which
will include considerations for a truck bypass around Tottenham.
Among the study's objectives are: To evaluate the need for a bypass
route around the community of Tottenham, and if a need is identified,
create alternative solutions; and To evaluate the study area road
network to determine future needs and/or deficiencies in terms of
traffic operations, safety, and commercial goods movement.
The areas in focus include roadways in Adjala-Tosorontio, Bradford-West
Gwillimbury, lnnisfil, and New Tecumseth.
Public/agency input and comment is being solicited "such that they can
be incorporated into the planning and overall study design," according
to the public notice. Comments should be directed to Michael
Cullip, Director, Manager-Transportation Engineering mcullip@cctatham.com.
Further opportunities for public input and comment will be provided at
two Public Information Centres (open houses) to be held in the upcoming
months.
