

Adjala-Tosorontio leads 2025 growth in assessment across County

Adjala-Tosorontio led the way in Simcoe County with a 3.93 per cent increase in current value assessment growth in 2025, raising its taxable base to $2.97 billion dollars, an increase of $112.4 million. Growth in Adjala is attributable to new commercial/industrial development along its Hwy 89 corridor, and new residential in Colgan.
Clearview Township was next at 2.74, an increase of $88 million.
New Tecumseth on the other hand continued its slow growth pace and ranked near the bottom at 1.15 per cent raising its total assessment base to $8.05 billion. Innisfil, which holds the largest assessment pool, grew by 1.2 per cent raising its base to $9.9 billion, followed by Bradford which grew 1.45 per cent increasing its tax base to $8.8 billion.
Overall, the County's 16 member municipalities grew an average of 1.57 per cent raising the entire tax base to $74.3 billion,
The County had originally levied $221.4 million but experienced average growth of 1.63 per cent, or $3.6 million more.
By percentage Adjala Tosorontio also led the way with 4.32 per cent in-year increase on its final tax commitment, to $8.3 million, an increase of $344,363 from new growth.
New Tecumseth's contribution to the County's tax bill grew by 1.17 per cent to $24.46 million
Innisfil, maintained its place as the leading contributor of tax dollars to the County at $30.2 million, followed by Bradford at $26.9 million.
