
Alliston man facing impaired charges after striking hydro pole

Nottawasaga OPP have arrested and charged a 28-year-old male with impaired operation following a single-vehicle collision, Monday night.
On June 1, shortly before 6:00 pm, police were notified of a vehicle allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed that had collided with a hydro pole on Adjala-Tecumseth Townline.
At the scene OPP "observed a heavily damaged vehicle and a downed hydro pole with live wires, which ignited a grass fire."
Police spoke with the driver, who did not require medical attention, and observed signs of impairment. Following further investigation, the driver was arrested.

Operation while impaired - blood drug concentration (80 plus)

Obstruct peace officer
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later date. Their driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
