
New Tecumseth males charged with cocaine trafficking

Two males from New Tecumseth face drug trafficking charges following a car crash east of Tottenham that led to the discovery of 67 grams of cocaine.
Shortly after 10 pm last night (January 6), emergency crews were called to the intersection of 4th Line and Sideroad 15 in New Tecumseth. The vehicles were located in the ditch.
"As a result of the investigation, officers arrested two occupants from one of the involved vehicles," according to OPP. "Officers also seized a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine from the vehicle."
The driver, Jordyn Cayer, 26, of New Tecumseth, is charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of Trafficking - cocaine;
• Public Mischief;
• Driving while under suspension;
• Driving motor vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available; and
• Driving motor vehicle or boat with liquor readily available.
The passenger, John McGuinnigle, 34, of New Tecumseth, is charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of Trafficking - cocaine;
• Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance; and
• Having liquor in open container in unauthorized place.
One individual was transported to hospital by EMS with minor injuries.
Both accused parties were released on a Form 10 Undertaking and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford with a future court date to answer to the charges.
