Saunderson delivers millions for road resurfacing in Alliston
Posted March 18, 2026
New Tecumseth will receive $2.975 million for road improvements to sections of Victoria, King, and Young Street as part of the province's connecting link program.
Simcoe-Grey PC MPP Brian Saunderson, was in Alliston this afternoon for the announcement along with members of council.
A connecting link is a designated municipal road or bridge that connects two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to an international border crossing. This year, the Ontario government is investing over $45 million in 21 projects to repair roads and bridges in 20 municipalities across the province. Eligible costs for Connecting Links include the design, construction, renewal, rehabilitation and replacement of designated municipal roads and bridges.
At this post it wasn't clear how much of Victoria and King Street would be resurfaced, but the Young Street stretch is from King Street to Industrial Parkway. Work is expected to take place this year.
“The people of Alliston deserve access to safe, reliable transportation infrastructure, and that’s what our government is delivering,” said Saunderson. “Through the Connecting Links program, we’re keeping communities moving across the province as we continue our work to protect Ontario.”
